Officially over the hill now, release number 40 on Bludclot Recordings comes from SEAL TEAM 666, an alias of Agoraphobic Nosebleed madman J.Randall – the mastermind behind Grindcore Karaoke – which is typically reserved for harsh noise and the like. Here, with this 2 track EP for Bludclot we see him flex some muscle in the dubstep realms; however, it goes without saying this isn’t your typical dubstep.

Heavy compressed drums that are pulled more from industrial music than dubstep, huge grinding basslines from all angles, some ingenious percussion fills, and clever noise and vocal samples to round it all out and pull it all together. Tough and heavy, deep and heady.

bubbles returns to the Bludclot Recordings fold with a new full length LP entitled “Homunculus”. We’ll leave it up to you to Google that term, but rest assured this music is a fitting soundtrack. A variety of deep and dark techno varieties, like all his previous efforts the strength in output from bubbles is his subtlety. From the more forward thinking techno/acid moments, to the downright depraved and dubbed out ambient techno affairs, bubbles excels at begging the listener to hang on for another second; simultaneously creating universes in a matter of a moment and crafting a fleeting thought throughout an entire 8 minutes – the whole is the aim and the finer details are the gain. Fans of early experimental techno and ambient music need check this, as well as all fans of forward thinking electronic music.

It’s The Artbreaker‘s birthday, so he’s giving you a gift – An EP of a couple of new tracks! As many years on the planet as there are releases now in the Bludclot catalog, “38″ features the track “29th” which was made available as a free download from The Artbreaker himself for a limited time and will soon appear on an upcoming drum’n'bass compilation. “30th” is, as you might guess by its title, the follow up to “29th”, operating in some generally similar sonic realms.

If you’re at all familiar with The Artbreaker, you probably recall his haphazard habit of throwing caution to the wind when it came to jungle music, usually crafting spastic numbers that break all the rules of jungle, drum’n'bass, and beyond. Often fast, hyper edited, noisy, full of gabber kicks, things like that. “38″ shows a new chapter in his work while not drifting too terribly far from the more ruffneck styles. Plenty of chopped the fuck up drums and big bass work, there’s also some nice melody and atmosphere in there with more musicality and truly runnin’ vibes than you might expect.

Quiz 10 from 2010 on number 037 in 2013.

Having worked with a couple of people previously featured or released on Bludclot and Grindthieves, you’re already familiar with his work even though you might not realize it. This is a collection of instrumentals from 2010 originally released via a seemingly very short lived and now defunct collective called Disassociated Music. We didn’t catch wind of this until fairly recently and only as a direct result of the brilliant Tahkid. We had a hell of a time digging up any real and concrete information about the release despite a good amount of internet hunting and questions posed to various sources. Inevitably, however, we got Quiz 10′s blessing to do whatever we liked with it – so when that message was passed on, it was instantly decided to put it out as part of the ever expanding and varied Bludclot Recordings catalog.

The tracks here are all instrumental sampledelic goodness of the highest order. Dabbling in traditional boom bap affairs, marginally jungle/drum’n'bass efforts, trip hop, IDM, lowkey electronica and more, “I Am The Mutant” truly is a creature of another sort when it comes to hip hop beatwork. Exercising a great deal of artistic freedom and creativity with his hip hop backdrops, Quiz 10 sits comfortably on the peripheral edges of traditional rap beats but these tracks could easily find themselves being laced by any number of MCs, big or small. Add to that fact that they still manage to come off fully effective all on their own, and you know this is certified winning.

If there’s one thing Bludclot ain’t, it’s giving a shit about your genres or expectations. Seldt comes correct, again ever so closely on the heels of our last release, and offers up a 5 track EP of audio sketches that really color outside of the lines and think outside of the box. From the beginning you might feel like you’re listening to some classic IDM flavors, around the half way mark you’re curious about these new dubstep and drum’n'bass styles that everyone is talking about, by the end of it you feel well versed in experimental noise audio. “Internal Sadness EP” from Seldt has it all in its admittedly short running time, so don’t take more than a second to decide that you’re going to check it out – because this is some expertly crafted sound, bar none.

At the point where Plug’s “Drum’n'bass For Papa” intersects with oldschool rave jungle and freaked out jungle/d’n'b influenced IDM from the old masters is where the newest release from Bludclot Recordings dwells. “The Next Jung(list)” is a tongue & cheek affair from start to finish, it is also jam packed with undeniable retro-forward thinking jungle wickedness. Simultaneously laughing off and embracing jungle for jungle’s sake, he manages to throw some loose acid vibes and chin-stroking IDM in the blender with huge distorted kick drums and noise from more breakcore realms, then drizzlies the mixture over choice breakbeat workouts that make you wanna shuffle your feet as much as sit back and twist one up.

You might remember p.WRECKS from his joint with Xrin Arms that we released in the first half of 2011. If not, definitely go check that one out. This time around, however, Bludclot has the honor of sharing with you his solo opus entitled “Luggage Checked To Nowhere”.

With production credits from K. Clifton, Ocean, Guttah Face, Iwwerks, Sales Wagon, Ionic 26, and Xrin Arms, p.WRECKS delivers 10 tracks worth of verses that show a growth, maturity, and obvious further extension of coming into his own. p.WRECKS is absolutely not a newcomer to the rap game, to  be certain, but with “Luggage Checked To Nowhere” he displays the most confident and superbly delivered batch of words he’s penned to date. A gifted wordsmith, without question. On this newest release, he crafts an overall dark tapestry of lyricism, speaking as someone who is both sure of himself and his gift as well as someone questioning and contemplating the legitimacy of nearly all aspects of life. ”Luggage Checked To Nowhere” is a sort of spoken word and leftfield boom bap affair that is an exercise in disseminating information, especially that which bubbles below the surface and out of plain site – a heavy brooding war cry to stand against the status quo and look deeper.

The beats are subdued and sinister, sometimes blatantly so and other times only peripherally, that are supreme backdrops to the lines and verses p.WRECKS brings to them. K.Clifton, Xrin Arms, and Guttah Face’s offerings are probably the standout musical moments on this one, but it’s obvious p.WRECKS was very particular in selecting the tracks to spit these ritualistic verses over and each of them is subtly brilliant.
